Tsintsiya Movie Premier
Abuja - Nigeria. March 2008
Movie Produced by: Hamisu Lamido
Tsintsiya movie have been premièred in Abuja, the movie produced by Hamisu Lamido; Iyan Tama Multi Media was sponsored by the United States Embassy in Abuja Nigeria. In his key note address, the producer lamented that “The making of “Tsintsiya” was both a challenge and an opportunity to elevate the Hausa movie industry popularly known as “Kannywood”.
He also stated that the “Tsintsiya production began weeks before the pornography incident that led to the temporary banning of movie productions in Kano by the Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) to pacify the Kano State Government. As a result, we lost some of our original casts in the movie and were denied access to some of our shooting locations in Kano. As creative artistes however, we were not deterred by those obstacles because we know that we have a story to tell.
The American ambassador to Nigeria, Robin Renee Sanders, in her speech said that “Nigeria is rich with ethnic, cultural and religious influences. The blending of these different influences gives strength to the nation, much as the broom in the classic Hausa metaphor: is strengthened by the binding together of its individual stands”. Other key figures attended the event includes ambassadors from other countries, ministers, and members of the movies industries.
